SCOTTISH SHOW HITS THE SWEET SPOT Attracting over 600 visitors, equally spread over two days - Scotland’s first High End show got off to a wonderful start. Trade, VIP and complimentary admissions were extra to that.
Run over the weekend (28-29 October 2006) the show was located at the Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club a few miles outside Edinburgh and provided a great setting for this highly exclusive show.
The show concentrated on two channel audio and enjoyed support from some top names, both indigenous and UK based.
The visitor quality & knowledge levels were exceedingly high and their positive and friendly demeanour was a delight to the organisers.
Of great importance to the industry was that over 25% of visitors paid on the day ie were not already data captured, so new to shows, and over 7% of male visitors had female companions.
Additionally 8% of visitors on the Saturday returned on the Sunday, and there was a notable and even spread of age groups.
The organisers have proven some industry doubters wrong in that such a specialised show, in an out of town location in a less populated area of the country could indeed fulfil it’s ambitions.
“ This is further endorsement that in order to develop this industry shows of this kind have to go to their audiences now and provide an entertaining and value for money day out “ – says the organisers.
Dates for next year have already been set as the 27-28th October 2007, same venue.
Our target is 750+ visitors for next year with more rooms and possibly some High End AV.
