Stream & Pulse The New Leema Stream Multi-DAC CD Player
Leema’s new Stream CD player incorporates many of the technical innovations that Leema pioneered in the multi-award-winning Antila CD player to deliver a breathtaking performance, in a beautifully ergonomic package, at an astonishingly low price.
No less than sixteen 24bit / 192KHz multi-bit Delta-Sigma converters are used in Leema’s unique MD2 Active Differential Multi-DAC technology. The unbalanced stereo output is derived from a fully balanced signal that is generated in the digital domain by to produce an incredibly real and tactile musical performance with almost no noise and distortion.
The Stream is an absolute joy to use; apart from the standby button there is just one control: Leema’s L-Drive. This single rotary control intuitively performs all the usual CD functions such as CD tray open and close, play, stop, previous and next track as well as allowing direct track access.
To further enhance the operational simplicity the Stream is fully LIPS (Leema Intelligent Protocol System) compliant. LIPS allows Leema products to intelligently communicate with each other, allowing, for example, a single press of the L-Drive control to not only select play, but to automatically switch on and select the CD input on the amplifier.
The Stream effortlessly presents music with precision, power and an analogue-like delicacy within an expansive yet explicitly focused soundstage.
The New Leema Pulse Amplifier
Alongside the Antila, Leema’s Tucana amplifier has received massive critical acclaim, won many awards and helped establish Leema Acoustics as a manufacturer of the very highest quality. To accompany the new Stream CD Player the Pulse amplifier has been conceived to deliver a startling level of performance to a whole new audience. By carefully slimming and honing of the Tucana design, and by adding exciting new features Leema have produced a new reference amplifier in its price band, less than half that of the Tucana.
The Pulse is easily capable of driving today’s audiophile speakers with a vice-like grip and precise control. Input selection includes a LIPS-configurable AV input, separate moving magnet and moving coil phono inputs and a front panel mounted MP3 player input. Additional features include record output, full remote control with sophisticated volume display, headphone output, and for total peace of mind, full short circuit protection.
As with all Leema electronics, the Pulse features LIPS, which enables the Pulse to automatically and intelligently configure other devices into a multi-unit home entertainment system of uncompromised audiophile quality. It was designed with families in mind. No longer will only one member of the family be able to fully use the system, resulting in more enjoyment for everyone and more return on your investment.
Simplicity is the key to enjoyment

About Leema Acoustics…
The founders, both ex-BBC engineers, have a fanatical interest in audio reproduction for both professional and domestic environments. Since the early 1990s Mallory Nicholls has been manufacturing the world’s leading 5.1 monitoring electronics for recording studios and mastering houses under the MAGTRAX brand; whilst the BAFTA and Palme d’Or award-winning Lee Taylor, has many years experience in recording and mixing for the film, television and music industries.
Leema Acoustics was founded in 1998 as a vehicle for Mallory and Lee to push the boundaries of loudspeaker design in order to create a miniature loudspeaker capable of outperforming a system many times its size. The original research focused on new design principles and mathematical models as software tools available at the time were simply not good enough requiring Leema to write their own. The result, released some four years later, was a micro monitor of unsurpassed technical and musical excellence called Xen. Initially the Xen was only available to the professional audio market but over time audiophiles became increasingly aware of the quality of Leema products, which are designed to be run all day, everyday.
With growing interest from Hi-Fi enthusiasts, audiophiles and audio professionals, the Leema range is evolving in to a class-leading portfolio. Where possible, Leema source all major components from within the EU.
