Russ Andrews Accessories have reduced the size of their respected Torlyte racks to cater for the growing number of half width hi-fi separates products.
Initially designed to complement Russ Andrews’ own range of high quality desktop audio products (the previously launched HP-1, PA-1 and DAC-1), the compact Torlyte racks bring the proven advantages of low mass, high rigidity racking to users of products such as Teac’s CR-H255 or Denon’s D-F102.
Torlyte was originally developed by Russ Andrews after careful research into the negative effects of solid metal and glass stands on musical enjoyment. In all hi-fi systems, the vibrations generated by the act of a loudspeaker moving air in the room are amplified by the microphonic components within the hi-fi, such as capacitors and resistors, and fed back into the audio chain. These amplified and delayed vibrations have a degrading influence on the music reproduction, the natural rhythm and timing. The use of solid, heavy stands in effect traps the vibrations within the equipment/stand combination, delaying the feedback and resulting in a constantly worsening situation. Torlyte, with its incredibly light, honeycomb structure, substantially overcomes these problems by channelling the unwanted vibrations towards the ground. This results in a more coherent reproduction of music, without the unwanted influence of time-delayed vibrations.
The new, hand made, compact Torlyte racks allow the users of the ever increasing number of half width hi-fi components to enjoy the musical reproduction of their systems without having to compromise on the aesthetics through the use of full width racks. As with the full size racks, a variety of shelf combinations and riser heights are available to make the stands suitable for any combination of equipment.
