New CD players range.
FINEST REPRODUCTION
Nagra introduces a CD player to complete its range and offer a full system. After 20 years, CD is a respected and mature format, it brings excellent performance and disks are available from virtually infinite catalogues. Our ambition with this new family is to bring you the finest CD player so
you can reproduce, at home, the originally recorded quality of a concert or studio recording, often made using a Nagra recorder - the absolute reference.
Nagra CD players will take you as close to the original recording as possible.
While technical issues lead its design, the Nagra CD player is a jewel, built using only the finest materials and employing Nagra’s traditional precision engineering. This unique object will fit naturally into your environment.
COMPACT DESIGN
Nagra CD players are designed to match our elegant and refined chassis, already popular in our preamplifiers, the PL-L and PL-P. The shape and dimensions of our famous professional analogue recorders originally inspired this design. Perfection is at your finger-tips.
NAGRA ERGONOMY
For those of you who always dreamt of owning one of our legendary recorders, you will appreciate finding the Nagra rotary selector to control the CD transport: play, stop, pause. Feel the pleasure of turning it fully clockwise and start hearing the first tune “Roll sound” as they say on a film set.
DIGITAL TECHNIQUES FROM OUR STATE-OF-ART RECORDER
Digital techniques from our state-of-the-art recorders. In 1992 Nagra introduced the legendary Nagra-D, four-track digital recorder that still outperforms recent recorders. Many unique features included in the CD players are derived from Nagra recorders’ technologies.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING OF MILITARY SPECIFICATIONS
Nagra recorders are famous for the quality of their mechanics. In the days of magnetic tape, a fluent tape path was the only way to achieve high performance. Nagra also benefits from the Swiss heritage in the clock industry. Every part of the CD player was designed to make it a perfect drive. The smooth movements of the drawer will assure you that you are using a piece of Nagra equipment long before you even start listening.
A WHOLE NEW FAMILY
The CD players are a whole new family. Each unit is designed to meet specific needs. All three players share the same mechanical parts, only the electronics and the front panels differ.
CD CONCEPT
The CD Concept, CDC, is designed for those of you who want a convenient all-in-one solution offering uncompromising sound quality. The CDC includes analogue preamplifiers with motorized potentiometers for volume and balance controls. The CDC should be the centre-piece of your system, giving balanced and unbalanced outputs so you can connect it directly to any power amplifier.
The CDC also features the legendary modulometer level indicator to precisely monitor the CD level. In addition, the CDC includes a high quality headphone amplifier for intimate listening.
CD PLAYER
The CD Player, CDP, has the same electronics as the CDC but with fixed volume and balance. It is designed to be connected to a preamplifier such a s the Nagra PL-P or PL-L.
The CDP front panel does include the main functions.
CD TRANSPORT
The CD Transport allows you to benefit from our drive technology and use an external DAC such as the Nagra DAC. It comes with a complete array of digital outputs (AES, S/Pdif, Toslink).
REMOTE CONTROL
All three units are controllable from the new Nagra remote control if desired. Offering access to all principal functions and several features unavailable on the front panel from the comfort of your seat. It can also be used to control other NAGRA equipment.
