Clearaudio Performance debuts the Ceramic Magnetic Bearing Performance Art
The new Clearaudio Performance turntable presents a truly high-end analogue turntable in a fit-and-forget package of extremely elegant appearance and design philosophy, incorporating the very latest patented Clearaudio technology: the Ceramic Magnetic Bearing.
The main bearing shaft of the Performance is machined from an exclusive new ceramic alloy, allowing a much finer polished surface than that previously obtainable in turntable bearings. As the bearing does not use a ball bearing nor a thrust pad of any kind, the Clearaudio Ceramic Magnetic Bearing avoids any point of load and so eliminates bearing friction, wear and noise.
The Clearaudio Performance chassis is precision manufactured from High Density Fibreboard within an aluminium frame, which is then sandwiched between two layers of STARON™ artificial stone. The highly advanced chassis construction effectively controls resonance leading to a dynamic, thrilling yet superbly natural performance.
The separate motor is entirely isolated from the chassis, driving the precision-machined 40mm thick GS-PMMA acrylic platter via a Clearaudio ‘silent belt’. This joint-less silicon based drive belt transfers significantly less noise into the platter than traditional rubber types.

Satisfy Carbon Directwire
The Performance turntable is fitted with Clearaudio’s award-winning Satisfy Carbon Directwire tone arm, which performs beyond expectations by virtue of its elegant design and quality manufacture. The combination of magnetic bias compensation, sapphire and ceramic bearings all contribute toward excellent performance.
The twin-axis Satisfy Carbon Directwire combines extremely high structural rigidity with ultra-low friction movement. The woven carbon fibre arm tube is both extremely rigid yet light. The vertical bearing uses a shaft made out of wolfram, the polished ends of which run in sapphire watch bearings. The twin horizontal bearings use extremely precise and long life ceramic bearings. The high precision headshell and full adjustability allows the accurate alignment of any cartridge type. The Satisfy Carbon Directwire also features an unbroken run of Clearaudio’s own Direct Wire from the cartridge to phono plugs. The cartridge pins are Clearaudio’s own impedance-matched sprung connectors, as fitted to other Clearaudio tone arms as well as some high-end third party designs.
Maestro Wood
Completing the Performance package is Clearaudio’s Maestro Wood cartridge. Positioned at the top of Clearaudio’s range of moving magnet cartridges, the Maestro Wood is extremely accurate and musically engaging yet remains compatible with the widest range of amplifiers and phono stages. The satiné wood body provides the perfect mechanical match for the Satisfy Carbon tonearm.
